Icon is available as a stacking chair and barstool in hand brushed and hand polished aluminum finishes.

YUKO is an elegant chair, made entirely of aluminium, which we could define as “also folding” on account of the formal and technical decisiveness achieved by the project. Solid and aesthetically sophisticated in the linearity of the profile, YUKO is an object with an excellent design, whether seen open or closed. Desalto are therefore introducing in the catalogue their first folding chair, which is distinguished by the neatness of the project and above all for being so comfortable, which makes it particularly suited also to a business supplies market. Indeed, the possibility of folding it away, considerably reducing its encumbrance, makes it ideal for bars and premises with outdoor spaces. The chair has extruded aluminium legs, die-cast back and die-cast aluminium plate seat.

Trace armchair

Small armchair with an unmistakable design, made of a single plastic body and brushed or chromed stainless steel structure, it has met with great success and is already a new icon of Desalto production. What is new is the swivel version on a single leg, which joins the stackable one on four legs. Trace is also suitable for outdoor use and, in the new swivel version, for use in the office.
In the version with swivel base, it is available with white or polished aluminium structure. It’s available also in the version with a continuous steel rod leg.

For greater comfort, the new leather or ecopiel cushion has also been introduced.

From young and vibrant to classically reserved. Sprayed coloured from head to foot, or in walnut with chromed frame and leather upholstery.

FORM is many faceted and fits to its surroundings whether at home or in a commercial setting. It is stackable and chainable and therefore perfect for hall, conference and restaurant applications.
A Groove separates the seat from the backrest. The ergonomic seat of moulded ply supports the back and yields slightly when leaning back.

An elegant thin back support encloses a soft seat to give an optimum comfort to shoulder height. Despite its royal appearance Floris looks elegant without taking too much space. Aluminium Group EA 124/EA 125 - Lounge Chair

The chairs in the Aluminium Group are the most famous creations by Charles and Ray Eames. Designed in 1958 they rate amongst the great achievements in the design history of the 20th century.
An important characteristic of the Aluminium Chair is the intelligent combination of materials. It has a clear, transparent form and its construction is clearly visible. Aluminium sections lend the chair both stability and lightness. The material is fixed into the side sections, yet fitted loosely so that it follows the line of the body and is comfortable without requiring extensive upholstery. This material is not a cover but an integral part of the design.

EA 124 Easy chair with high backrest and head cushion. Swivel with adjustable tilt mechanism. EA 125 Stool, non swivel, for use with Easy chair EA 124. All bases are fitted with glides. Bucket seats have been icons of design for decades. Natural shapes often prove to be a particular challenge for designers in our rational world. PearsonLloyd, the renowned design team from London, has come up with its own expressive interpretation. On the outside, the bucket is a success with its clean sweeping vital lines; inside, a second, comfortably upholstered bucket is perfect for relaxing.

Turtle is easy to swivel with a pedestal or four star base, the back buckets are white, black or even have fabric or leather covers. The low-level lounge chair with a generous bucket fits in with upholstered furniture, at home as well as in clubbing and lounging areas. In terms of height and proportions, the dinner chair is all about sitting comfortably at a table.

The Worker Armchair

"Form follows feeling" – with this personally revised version of the modernist credo "form follows function", Hella Jongerius describes a fundamental principle of her design philosophy. One of the central aims of her work is to breach the strict boundaries between mass-produced industrial products and unique handcrafted objects. The synthesis of these seemingly contradictory approaches to design has resulted in novel products with a strongly individual character.

The Worker armchair, Jongerius' newest design for the Vitra Home Collection, derives its unusual appeal from the intriguing combination of obviously handcrafted elements and technologically sophisticated features. The impression of handmade, down-to-earth solidity stems from the stocky compactness of the seat cushion as well as the visible base, whose square section oak frame recalls half-timbered construction. Modernity and new technologies, on the other hand, are evident in the complex shapes of the CNC-lathed wooden armrests and the polished aluminium connectors that join them to the wooden backrest.

The striking character of The Worker relies to a large degree on the selection of upholstery materials. The voluminous seat and loose two-layer back cushions are covered with different kinds of materials, both fabric and leather. In this way, Jongerius has developed a composition of varying textures and carefully co-ordinated colours. The high back cushion is enhanced by leather edge panels with a practical, integrated handle strap on the top. The small front cushion is accented with two decorative buttons. Like the buttons on the Polder Sofa, they are made out of exotic natural materials and attached with high-tech parachute thread.

Commenting on her inspiration for this armchair, whose unusual distinctiveness is complemented by its friendly, congenial nature, Jongerius says:

“I am highly interested in furniture made from solid wood, in craftsmanship done by carpenters. It holds the collective memory of people; wood gives us trust, honesty, slow life, a feeling of being at home. Working with this material was out of the picture for a long time because it is not sexy and contemporary. But why is innovation always connected with high-tech and plastics?

I tried to work like a contemporary carpenter. The search was for a small fauteuil which gives comfort, a size that embraces the body and fits in smaller places. To celebrate the wood, a part of the construction on the back is visible. The front part is comfortable upholstery, it slides into the wood. Some of the fabrics look like a worker’s clothes, but there is a brightly coloured, comfortable pillow which gives support in the lower back. The armrest shows the soft face of wood, as if it was rolling in a river for years. And by its production method it is a high-tech object.“

Purist in appearance – formal, strong and clear in design. The tables and chairs share a common identity which encourage people to linger and talk over a meal. The Fino programme encompasses two chair variations and made-to-measure tables. Developing a comfortable, attractive chair is a challenge for every furniture designer – even more so when the chair is not only going to be seen an used alone but in conjunction with a table. Although the tabel and chairs share similar characteristics, each has its own personality.

The table comes in three standard sizes (170, 220 and 270 cm) and two widths (90 or 100 cm), but any other size is available to order, offering you the ultimate in individuality; there’s even an extendable version of the narrow table, with tabletop leaves ready for insertion. The tabletop is available in beech, maple, or walnut, in a range of lacquer colours or in frosted glass.
